ISO Standards In Construction

Occupational Health & Safety - Construction Industry

MMC consultants have experience in working alongside businesses within the construction industry and understand the amount and variety of the work that goes into construction projects. E.g.  Managing health and safety risk, maintaining and monitoring performance, security, sustainability and environmental issues.

Health and safety is always a major concern in the construction industry and ISO 45001 is the international standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management. It provides a framework with which to manage the legal and best practise requirements of health and safety in construction, including policy, risk assessment, training and auditing.

Achieving certification will formalise existing health and safety processes and, identify areas which may require improvement. Many of our clients find that ISO 45001 makes it easier to tender for contracts and win new business as it makes the importance of and, commitment to, health and safety clear to all interested parties.

How ISO & BIM Level 2 Accreditation Work Together

The ISO 9001 standard is designed to apply to almost any product or service, requiring the organisation to consider the planning and delivery to the customer.

Achieving ISO 9001 certification can help implement systems and policies that streamline processes and deliver efficiency-based savings.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) means that contractors of all types and size will need to demonstrate, as a minimum requirement of pre-qualification, the capability to work in a BIM environment. ISO 9001 can contribute to a (BIM) Level 2 Accreditation. Because they both relate to quality management, achieving ISO 9001 certification will take out much of the hard work involved in achieving BIM Level 2.
